The 2027 GMC Sierra is getting more than updated truck technology. General Motors has announced an all-new in-vehicle user interface designed to make navigation, trailering, entertainment, driver-assistance features, and everyday vehicle controls easier to access and use.

One of the biggest changes is a redesigned multi-view home screen. The default layout can display a large interactive map alongside other information, including media, fuel-efficiency data, vehicle information and trailering metrics. Drivers can interact with those features while keeping navigation visible on the screen.

The digital driver display can also change depending on what the truck is doing. Specialized layouts are available for functions such as trailering, off-road driving and available Super Cruise, allowing the display to prioritize information relevant to the current driving situation.

Drivers will also be able to customize quick-access controls for frequently used functions such as climate settings, audio and camera views. GM is retaining key physical controls as well, giving drivers tactile access to important functions.

Smarter Technology for Towing and Trailering

Available technology also includes a Hitch View camera to help line up a trailer, underbody camera views for navigating difficult terrain, and the ability to perform trailer light checks from a connected phone.

The new system also offers access to Google Maps, Google Gemini, Google Play and additional built-in apps, along with native experiences designed specifically for GM truck owners.
