GMC’S LINE-UP OF HEAVY DUTY PICKUPS DOMINATES IN LATEST RESALE VALUE AWARD STUDY FROM J.D. POWER
The GMC Sierra 3500HD has best resale value, in the Heavy Duty Pickup segment, according to J.D. Power’s 2020 U.S. Resale Value Award study.
In J.D. Power’s 2020 U.S. Resale Value Awards, the GMC Sierra 3500HD captured the top spot in the Heavy Duty Pickup segment; while the GMC Sierra 2500HD took third place. In second was GMC’s sister brand, Chevrolet, with the Silverado 2500HD.
The J.D. Power 2020 U.S. Resale Value Awards recognize the best resale value across 25 model-level vehicle segments following three years of ownership. According to J.D. Power’s vice president and general manager, Jonathan Banks, the database utilized to conduct the study, “shows which models have the lowest depreciation costs, hence providing consumers with a key component in the total cost of ownership of the vehicle they plan to purchase or sell.” 
270 different vehicle models were evaluated in the 2020 U.S. Resale Value Awards selection process. Among the competition, the GMC Sierra 3500HD shined the brightest. Not only did the Sierra 3500HD have the best resale value in the Heavy Duty Pickup segment, the truck was also recognized for having the best overall resale value in the industry.
